My story

My creative journey began in childhood, where imagination first found expression through drawing and painting.  For many years, I worked as a mixed-media artist exploring colour, texture and mark-making before discovering a deep connection to clay while undertaking a Diploma of Visual Art in 2024.

Today, my practice brings painting and ceramics together through a shared language of material, surface and form.  Working with clay, charcoal and recycled cardboard, I create contemporary vessels and paintings that explore the relationship between the natural and built environment.

Inspired by weathered landscapes, geological formations and the textures of everyday urban spaces, my work investigates how materials carry memory and reveal the passage of time.  Rather than depicting place, I seek to evoke it through layered surfaces, restrained palettes and expressive mark-making.

My ceramic vessels and paintings exist in conversation with one another.  Each informs the other, creating an evolving body of work that explores earth, architecture and the quiet beauty found in work and overlooked materials.

Working from my Sunshine Coast studio, I continue to investigate the meeting of clay, charcoal and paint, allowing process, experimentation and material discovery to guide my practice.
