Hello, I'm Gillian Smith, also known as The Creative Pilgrim. 

My creative journey began in my childhood when I immersed myself in my imagination, creating vibrant worlds on paper. 

As a process painter, I've been fascinated with various mediums and continue to push the boundaries with contrast in colour and surface finish.

Discovering a love of pottery while undertaking a Diploma in Visual Art in 2024, my practice now bridges painting and pottery as I continue to explore the intersection of surface, texture and form.

These current vessels seem to echo the layered expressive qualities of my paintings and draw on geological forms and the marks of time, revealing a dialogue between colour, earth, and transformation - both within the materials and my own creative journey.
